About Shawnee Citizens for Responsible Development
Mission: We support responsible development in the city of Shawnee.
Responsible development is recognizing and preserving the best use of
land, and developing and implementing a mitigation plan that addresses the
impact to the community as a whole and to the surrounding neighbors.
This includes preserving the heritage of Shawnee, the direct and indirect
safety and costs associated with infrastructure growth, the impact on the
surrounding environment, and the potential stormwater management and
flooding risk.
To achieve this mission, we will build relationships between individual
citizens, groups and agencies to educate all concerned of the impacts and
opportunities in development. We will be an advocate to create and
implement solutions for the common good of Shawnee and voice those
concerns that meet our common issues.
Our funding comes from concerned citizens. We are not a 501(c)3 non profit
organization only because we have not spent the money to register. We are
currently applying for 501(c)3 status. If you would like to make a donation,
contact us.
